# Localization

> Use Okara in your language — UI, agent messages, and new content all render in your chosen language.

Okara supports 17 languages. When you set a preferred language, the entire product updates: navigation, settings, agent messages, and all newly generated content render in your chosen language.

Arabic and Urdu use right-to-left layout — the entire interface mirrors direction automatically.

## Setting your language

**From the profile menu (quickest):**

1. Click your **profile menu** at the bottom of the sidebar
2. Select your language directly from the **Language** option in the dropdown

**From Settings:**

1. Click your **profile menu** at the bottom of the sidebar
2. Go to **Settings → Personalization**
3. Select your preferred language from the **Content Language** dropdown

Your preference is saved to your account and persists across devices and sessions.

## What gets translated

**Interface** — all static UI elements: navigation labels, buttons, form fields, settings screens, and error messages render instantly in your language.

**Agent messages** — progress updates, status lines, and phase descriptions from the AI CMO are pre-built for all 17 languages.

**New content** — articles, strategy documents, and all AI-generated content are written directly in your selected language from the start. There is no post-generation translation step.

## Translating previously generated documents

Strategy documents that were generated before you set your language preference show in the language they were originally written in. You can translate them on demand:

1. Open any strategy document
2. Click the **Translate** button (globe icon) in the document toolbar
3. The document switches to your current language

Click **Show original** to toggle back. Translations are cached, so switching back and forth is instant after the first load.

  The Translate button only appears when your language is set to something other than English.

## RTL support

Arabic and Urdu render with full right-to-left layout. Text alignment, navigation direction, and component layout all flip automatically — no extra configuration needed.

## Per-account, not per-project

Your language preference applies to your account across all projects. Each team member can set their own language independently.
