About this skill

What is the Ad Copy?

The Ad Copy skill is the exact instruction set Okara’s Writer Agent follows when it writes paid ads. It captures how the agent locks platform constraints, matches message to audience, leads with a hook, and generates variants built to test rather than a single guess.

It’s written as a SKILL.md, a plain-language instruction format that both people and AI agents can follow directly. Read it to understand what makes ad copy convert within tight constraints, hand it to your paid team, or let the Writer Agent produce test-ready ad sets across platforms.

Downloading the instructions is free with an Okara account. Running the skill continuously — generating and iterating on ad variants across your campaigns — is part of the Writer Agent.

Example

See it in action

You ask: Write Google Search ads for our project management tool targeting small teams.

Agent does: Here’s a responsive search ad set within Google’s limits — 12 headlines (≤30 chars) and 4 descriptions (≤90 chars), so the system can mix them. Headlines span angles: benefit ("Ship Projects On Time"), specificity ("Set Up in Under 10 Minutes"), social proof ("Trusted by 5,000+ Teams"), and objection ("No Credit Card to Start"). Descriptions lead with the payoff and end on a CTA. I’ve kept the promise aligned to your "Start free" landing page so the message matches after the click, and grouped three variants worth testing first.

How it works

From input to fix list

  1. 1

    You give platform and offer

Tell the Writer Agent the platform, format, offer, and audience for the campaign.

  2. 2

    Okara locks the constraints

The agent confirms character limits and matches the message to who’s being targeted and where they are in the funnel.

  3. 3

    It writes hook-led variants

Each variant leads with a strong hook, carries one value prop, and spans angles built to test against each other.

  4. 4

    You get test-ready ad sets

Ads grouped by platform within limits, labeled by angle, with message match to your landing page noted.

What's included

Everything it checks

  • Platform-accurate limits

Copy written to each platform’s exact character limits and formats — RSA, Meta, LinkedIn.

  • Hook-first lines

The strongest benefit, pain, or curiosity in the first line — the part everyone reads.

  • Multi-angle variants

Benefit, social proof, urgency, and objection variants so there’s a real test to run.

  • Audience message match

Copy tuned to cold versus retargeting audiences and their funnel stage.

  • Landing-page alignment

The ad’s promise matched to the destination page so clicks convert.

  • Built to iterate

Variants labeled by angle so you can test, learn, and scale the winners.

Use cases

When to reach for it

  • Launch a new paid campaign with test-ready variants from day one.
  • Lift click-through on ads with weak or generic copy.
  • Generate angle variants to A/B test instead of guessing.
  • Fix ad-to-page message mismatch that kills conversions.
  • Scale winning campaigns with fresh, on-brand variations.
