10 Best Moz Alternatives in 2026 (Ranked & Reviewed)

Looking for Moz alternatives? We compared 10 tools on SEO, GEO, pricing and distribution. Okara AI CMO tops the list at $99/month.

At the time of its launch, Moz was truly revolutionary. Things got universal when it came to the importance of Domain Authority, and when it came to backlink research, there was no one like Open Site Explorer. And the Moz blog was a game-changer for a whole generation of SEOs.

But today, the search landscape is vastly different. Millions of users are now getting direct answers to their queries from AI-powered search engines such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini, rather than being directed to websites. GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) is no longer an experiment; it is essential. And some of the best marketing teams are getting their jobs done automatically.

In the context of that, we tested and compared 10 Moz alternatives on 5 parameters – Traditional Moz optimization, Moz backlink data quality, GEO options, content creation, and social distribution. This is what we discovered.

Why People Look for Moz Alternatives in 2026

Moz has not caught up with the new reality of marketing, and it's not moving quickly enough. When discussing and talking to practitioners three gaps emerge repeatedly:

Backlink data limitations. Whilst Moz's Domain Authority is still a directional metric, in a deep competitor research, you just can't ignore the data gap.

No GEO and AI search functionality. There are tools that now monitor the presence of your brand or content in ChatGPT answers, summaries in Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, such as Semrush, SE Ranking, and Frase. Moz has no insight into this level of the search landscape.

Research without execution. Moz provides you with data, and it's up to you to act on it. With lean teams the go-go mindset, there is a real divide between ‘here is what you should do' and ‘it is done'. Moz can't fix it.

Note: Moz is a solid SEO foundation, but in 2026 teams need more than keyword rankings and DA scores. AI search, social distribution, and autonomous content publishing are the new growth levers; and Moz doesn't touch any of them.

The 10 Best Alternatives

01: Okara AI CMO · $99/month ★ EDITOR'S PICK

Best for: Solo founders and small teams who want traffic — not just SEO metrics

Okara AI CMO is not the typical analytics platform. However, we leave it at number #1 because it addresses a problem which all of the other tools in this list make a point of avoiding: the execution gap.

The concept behind Okara is for the complete cycle to be automated. Input your website and AI agents do everything you need in your marketing stack, including researching, writing and posting your SEO content. Optimisation for GEO is taken care of. Posts are published on Reddit, X, and Hacker News on a daily basis, automatically.Every day, posts are automatically published onto Reddit, X, and Hacker News. Between March and April 2026, the platform gained 59,000 sign ups, indicating the 'just do it for me' pitch is working.

Okara is for teams who already know what they have to do and only need to do it at a regular rate; and $99/month.

✓ PROS✗ CONS

Full stack: SEO + GEO + social + contentBest for solo founders & small teams for now

59,000+ sign-ups since March 2026

02: Ahrefs · from $129/month

Best for: SEO teams who want deeper backlink data and keyword intelligence than Moz

The keyword database is actually deeper in Ahrefs, the index is bigger and the data is updated more quickly than on other international markets. However, in addition to backlinks, Ahrefs' Content Explorer and Keywords Explorer are truly great for ideation. Site Audit is a detailed and informative tool. Unlike Moz, the product team releases valuable updates on a regular basis.

The big drawback: Ahrefs costs $129/month and quickly ratchets up the prices. It also shares Moz's blind spot on GEO, as there is no tracking of AI search visibility. As for traditional SEO, however, it is the obvious progression from Moz. Explore at ahrefs.com.

✓ PROS✗ CONS
Largest backlink index in industryMore expensive than Moz
Superior keyword research vs MozNo GEO or AI search features
More actively developed productNo content creation or distribution
Site audits and technical SEOSteeper learning curve

03: Semrush · from $139.95/month

Best for: Teams wanting the most complete SEO suite available

Comparatively, Semrush is more than any of the others on the list. More than 26 billion terms in the keyword database. The backlink analysis has a good score. In 2026, Semrush has expanded GEO and AI search tracking, providing you with insights on how your content is performing in AI-generated responses.

But that's not to say that Semrush is cheap, costing $140+ a month, and doesn't take some time to be of any real value. The tendency to attempt everything at once in teams can cause them to get overloaded. Visit semrush.com.

✓ PROS✗ CONS
Most complete SEO platform availableMost expensive option at $140+/month
26B+ keyword databaseSteep learning curve
GEO and AI search trackingOverkill for small teams
Content optimization + backlinks + auditsNo social or distribution features

04: SE Ranking · from $52/month

Best for: Teams wanting Moz-level features at a lower price with stronger data

SE Ranking includes all of Moz's functions and services, including rank tracking, keyword research, backlink analysis tools, and site audits, and offers a competitive price of about half of Moz's. It also has the feature of tracking your Geos in AI search, something that Moz doesn't have!

The backlink database, however, is less comprehensive than Ahrefs' and the interface is more cluttered than some would like. See seranking.com.

✓ PROS✗ CONS
More affordable than MozBacklink database smaller than Ahrefs
Includes GEO prompt trackingInterface can be dense
Rank tracking + backlinks + audits + keywordNo social or distribution features
White-label reporting for agenciesContent optimization less polished

05: Mangools · from $29/month

Best for: Budget teams who want better data than Moz at a lower price

Mangools offers five specific tools: KWFinder, SERPChecker, SERPWatcher, LinkMiner, and SiteProfiler for $29/month to help you conduct keyword research, analyze your SERP, track your rank, perform a backlink analysis, and do competitive analysis.

The UI is really one of the purist in the business. It may be the more cost-effective option for solo SEOs, content creators, and freelancers that require dependable keyword information and rank tracking without the steep learning curve that Moz offers.

Mangools' areas of weakness: Backlink data is not as detailed, lacks GEO capability, and reporting capabilities are limited for agencies. Visit mangools.com.

✓ PROS✗ CONS
More affordable than MozBacklink data less comprehensive
Clean, focused interfaceNo GEO features
Good keyword and SERP researchLimited reporting for agencies
5 tools covering main SEO needsNot suitable for deep competitive analysis

06: Ubersuggest · from $12/month

Best for: Beginners who want a simple, affordable alternative to Moz

Ubersuggest is the tool if you were to introduce a friend to SEO for the first time and they need to get up to speed, but didn't want to spend a ton of money. It costs $12 per month (and has a free tier), and includes keyword research, basic site audits, and data on some backlinks.

Ubersuggest's data quality is also quite substandard compared to Moz's and as soon as a team ventures past basic SEO and into competitive research or technical audits, they will quickly discover that data quality is too low. Try at neilpatel.com/ubersuggest.

✓ PROS✗ CONS
Cheapest option — from $12/monthData significantly weaker than Moz
Free tier availableNo GEO or AI search tracking
Simple beginner-friendly interfaceLimited competitive intelligence
Covers basic SEO needsNo content or distribution

07: Serpstat · from $59/month

Best for: Teams wanting stronger data than Moz with team collaboration features

Serpstat is a full-fledged SEO tool for keyword research, rank tracking, backlink analysis, and site audits. Its backlink data is better than Moz's and the team collaboration, which includes role-based access, shared workspaces, and client reporting, is more advanced than you'd expect at this price.

There are also fewer integrations, community and third-party documentation, however. Explore at serpstat.com.

✓ PROS✗ CONS
Comparable pricing to MozNo GEO features
Better backlink data than MozData behind Ahrefs and Semrush
Good team featuresSmaller community
All-in-one SEO coverageNo content or distribution

08: SpyFu · from $39/month

Best for: Teams running paid search alongside SEO who need competitive PPC intelligence

SpyFu is a competitive PPC intelligence. It will tell you which keywords your competitors are bidding on, how long they have been bidding on them, an estimate on how much they are spending each month and which ad copy is successful.

SpyFu is less interesting than Moz for pure SEO work. Not a lot of backlinks and doesn't have GEO features. Visit spyfu.com.

✓ PROS✗ CONS
Best competitor PPC intelligenceLess comprehensive for pure SEO than Moz
Good keyword research for both SEO and PPCNo GEO features
More affordable than MozLimited backlink data
Unlimited keyword searches on most plansNo content or distribution

09: Frase · from $39/month

Best for: Content-focused teams who want SEO + GEO optimization in their writing workflow

If you're focusing on content marketing, then Frase's two-way SEO/GEO scoring is more relevant than anything Moz has to offer. Content briefs are created in just a few seconds, the editor can add competitive analysis in real time and the GEO features are not superficial but actually meaningful.

Things aren't as cut and dry for Frase though. No backlink analysis, no technical site audit, no rank-tracking dashboard. Visit frase.io.

✓ PROS✗ CONS
Dual SEO + GEO scoring in one editorNo backlink analysis or rank tracking
AI search tracking across 8 platformsNo social or distribution features
Faster content brief generationAI writing needs human editing
More affordable than MozDifferent use case from Moz

10: BrightEdge · Custom / Enterprise

Best for: Enterprise teams needing advanced AI-powered SEO beyond Moz's capabilities

AI-powered content recommendations, GEO visibility tracking, deep executive reporting, and enterprise-grade data integrations are all present in BrightEdge. Its implementation process is not to be taken lightly and costs a lot. This is a worthwhile investment for a Fortune 500 marketing team, or a large media operation. It is probably too much for anyone else. Visit brightedge.com.

✓ PROS✗ CONS
Enterprise AI-powered SEOVery expensive — not for SMBs
GEO and AI search visibilityComplex onboarding
Strong executive reportingNo social or distribution
Good for large content operationsOverkill for most teams

Final Verdict

Choose Okara AI CMO if you want to go beyond data and actually get traffic. Moz measures your SEO health. Okara builds it; content, GEO, social, and distribution, every day, for $99/month.

Choose Ahrefs if you want a straightforward upgrade with better backlink data and more active development.

Choose SE Ranking if you want Moz-level features at a lower price with GEO tracking built in.

Choose Semrush if you want the most comprehensive SEO platform and budget allows $140+/month.

Choose Mangools if you want a simpler, cheaper set of SEO tools for everyday use.

The question isn't which tool has the best feature set. The question is: are people actually finding your product? If the answer is no, research tools alone won't fix that.
