The skill file
--- name: about-page description: Write an about page that builds trust instead of listing history — why the company exists, who is behind it, and the proof that makes a buyer comfortable. owner: Okara Writer Agent --- # About Us Page The about page is one of the most visited pages on almost every site, and one of the least considered. People land on it to answer a single question: can I trust these people with money, data, or my time? Write for that question.

About this skill
What is the About Page?
The About Page skill is the exact approach Okara’s Writer Agent follows to turn one of the most visited and least considered pages on a site into a trust builder. It answers "why do you exist" immediately, puts real names and faces on the page, leads with specific proof rather than adjectives, and treats being small as a credibility asset rather than something to disguise.
It’s written as a SKILL.md, a plain-language instruction format that people and AI agents can both follow. Use it when buyers keep asking who is behind the product, or when the page is currently a founding year and a stock photo.
Downloading the instructions is free with an Okara account. Running the skill — the page written, kept current as the team and proof change, and consistent with the rest of your site — is part of the Writer Agent.
About pages behave differently from most other pages on a site: visitors arrive already interested, but they’re there to evaluate trust rather than to buy, so the copy gets read for reasons to believe rather than reasons to purchase. That’s why the page fails less on writing quality and more on specificity — a vague adjective where a real name, a real number, or a real reason should be. The skill exists because that failure mode stays invisible until someone reads the page as a skeptic would.
Example
See it in action
You ask: “Our about page says "Founded in 2021, we’re passionate about simplifying finance ops." Rewrite it.”
Agent does: It replaces the founding-year opener with why the company exists — the specific problem, stated in two sentences — because that is where a visitor decides whether to keep reading. Then it moves proof above the fold: 3,400 customers rather than "trusted by thousands," the three logos you can name, profitable since 2022. It puts the four founders on the page with names, faces, and roles, since for a small team that is the strongest credibility asset available. It narrows "finance teams" to the specific segment you actually serve well, keeps the origin to three sentences, states the one belief that explains your roadmap, and ends with a next step — because anyone who read the whole about page is seriously considering you.

How it works
From input to output
- 1
You share the basics
Give it why the company exists, who is behind it, who you serve, and any proof you have.
- 2
Okara leads with the why
The Writer Agent opens with the reason the company was built, not the year it was registered.
- 3
It stacks the proof
Specific numbers, named customers, real people with faces and roles — above the fold.
- 4
You publish with a next step
The page closes with one clear action, because a full read means serious consideration.
What's included
Everything it covers
Why-you-exist opener
Two sentences on the reason the company was built, in place of the founding-year line.
Proof above the fold
Specific numbers, logos, and credentials instead of "trusted by thousands."
Real people
Names, faces, and roles — the strongest credibility signal a small team has.
Named audience
Says specifically who you serve, which reassures the right buyer more than claiming everyone.
Honest scale
Treats being small as an asset rather than hiding it behind corporate voice.
Closing action
One clear next step for a visitor who has read the entire page.
