The skill file
--- name: content-audit description: Inventory every published page, score it against traffic, conversions, and accuracy, and issue one decision per URL — keep, update, merge, or delete. owner: Okara Writer Agent --- # Content Audit Most sites have more content than they can maintain, and a long tail of pages that quietly drag down the rest. An audit replaces guesswork with one decision per URL, ranked by the impact of making it.

About this skill
What is the Content Audit?
The Content Audit skill is the exact approach Okara’s Writer Agent follows to work out which pages on a site earn their keep. It builds a complete inventory, scores each URL on traffic, conversion, currency, and strategic fit, finds the pages cannibalizing each other, and ends with a single decision per URL — no ambiguity column.
It’s written as a SKILL.md, a plain-language instruction format that people and AI agents can both follow. Use it to clean up an inherited site, to explain flat traffic despite constant publishing, or to consolidate after a rebrand.
Downloading the instructions is free with an Okara account. Running the skill — the audit plus the refreshes, merges, and redirects it recommends — is part of the Writer Agent.
Example
See it in action
You ask: “We have 400 blog posts, traffic is flat, and nobody knows what half of them are for.”
Agent does: It builds the inventory first — every indexable URL with sessions, entrances, conversions, backlinks, and last-updated date — because every decision downstream depends on that table being complete. Then it groups the 41 posts competing with each other for the same queries and names which one survives each merge, flags 60 decayed pages that used to rank and still hold backlinks (the fastest recoverable traffic on the site), and marks 130 thin orphans for deletion rather than rewriting. Every URL gets one call, a redirect map covers every removal, and the plan is sequenced so the refreshes with existing links come first.
How it works
From input to output
- 1
You connect the site and data
Point it at the site with analytics and Search Console access so the inventory is real, not sampled.
- 2
Okara scores every URL
The Writer Agent rates each page on traffic, conversion contribution, factual currency, and strategic fit.
- 3
It finds the overlap and the decay
You get cannibalization groups and a decay list ranked by how much traffic is realistically recoverable.
- 4
You get one decision per URL
Keep, update, merge, or delete — with a redirect map and a sequence ordered by impact.
What's included
Everything it covers
Full inventory
Every indexable URL with dates, metrics, keywords, and backlinks in one table.
Four-axis scoring
Traffic, conversion contribution, factual currency, and strategic fit — scored per page.
Decay detection
Surfaces pages that used to rank and no longer do, ranked by recoverable traffic.
Cannibalization groups
Identifies URLs competing for the same intent and names the one that survives.
Delete list
Thin and orphaned pages marked for removal, because deletion is often the highest-value call.
Redirect map
Source-to-destination for every merge and delete, so no backlink is stranded on a 404.
Use cases
When to reach for it
- Explain flat traffic on a site that publishes constantly.
- Clean up an inherited site nobody has mapped.
- Consolidate content after a rebrand, merger, or pivot.
- Recover rankings from pages that decayed but still hold backlinks.
- Cut maintenance load by deleting pages that will never earn their keep.
