About this skill
What is the Content Calendar?
The Content Calendar skill is the exact instruction set Okara’s Writer Agent follows when it plans content over time. It captures how the agent sets cadence, maps themes to goals, balances the mix, and fills every slot with a title, format, keyword, channel, owner, and date.
It’s written as a SKILL.md, a plain-language instruction format that both people and AI agents can follow directly. Read it to build a repeatable planning process, hand it to your team as a shared plan of record, or let the Writer Agent generate and maintain your calendar.
Downloading the instructions is free with an Okara account. Running the skill continuously — keeping a live calendar that feeds your drafting pipeline — is part of the Writer Agent.
The gap shows up in the data, not just in gut feel: benchmark research (Content Marketing Institute-style studies) has repeatedly found that organizations working from a documented content strategy generate multiples more leads per dollar than those publishing ad hoc, and that consistent publishers out-earn sporadic ones in organic traffic over time. A calendar is what turns "documented strategy" from a slide in a deck into dates, owners, and a cadence someone is actually accountable for keeping.
Example
See it in action
You ask: “Plan a Q3 content calendar for our HR software blog. We can publish twice a week.”
Agent does: Two per week over 13 weeks is 26 slots. I’ve built it around three pillars tied to your goals — compliance, retention, and hiring — and balanced the mix across how-to guides, listicles, and one pillar page per pillar. Each slot has a working title, format, target keyword, channel, and a suggested owner, with your September product launch anchored by a cluster the two weeks before. I’ve also reserved two slots a month to refresh older posts and a monthly review to reprioritize.
