The skill file
--- name: ebook description: Write an ebook that people finish — a defensible promise on the cover, a chapter structure that builds, and enough substance to justify the email address it cost. owner: Okara Writer Agent --- # Ebook An ebook is a promise made in exchange for an email. Most break that promise: forty pages of padding around six pages of value. This skill writes the version people actually finish and remember who wrote.

About this skill
What is the Ebook?
The Ebook skill is the exact approach Okara’s Writer Agent follows to produce a long-form asset worth the email address it costs. It forces a defensible promise on the cover, structures chapters as a progression rather than a pile of tips, anchors every chapter in something concrete, and requires one original element — data, a framework, a template — as the reason to download at all.
It’s written as a SKILL.md, a plain-language instruction format that people and AI agents can both follow. Use it to package expertise you already have, to give sales something substantial to send, or to build a gated asset that justifies its gate.
Downloading the instructions is free with an Okara account. Running the skill — the full manuscript drafted in your voice, plus the posts and templates repurposed out of it — is part of the Writer Agent.
Example
See it in action
You ask: “We want an ebook on procurement automation as a lead magnet. Where do we start?”
Agent does: It starts by rejecting the working title — "The Complete Guide to Procurement Automation" could sit on ten competitors’ covers — and replaces it with a specific outcome and timeframe. Then it lays out nine short chapters as a progression where each depends on the last, not nine parallel tips in a PDF costume. Chapter one delivers something useful within three pages, because that is where readers decide whether to finish. Every chapter gets anchored in a customer example or a number, and it names the one original element worth gating: your internal cycle-time benchmark data, which nobody else can publish. The close is a single next step tied to the content, not a sales page bolted to the back.

What's included
Everything it covers
Defensible promise
A title and subtitle stating a specific outcome, not a category name.
Chapter progression
Six to twelve short chapters that depend on each other instead of running in parallel.
Concrete anchors
Every chapter grounded in an example, a number, a screenshot, or a template.
Skim path
Real chapter titles, pull quotes, and summary boxes so a skimmer still gets value.
Gate-worthy original
One proprietary dataset, framework, or process that justifies asking for an email.
Unforced next step
A single closing action tied to what the reader just learned, not a bolted-on pitch.
Use cases
When to reach for it
- Package deep expertise into a gated asset that earns the email.
- Give sales something substantial to send after a discovery call.
- Turn original data into a lead magnet competitors can’t copy.
- Replace a thin ebook that gets downloaded and never opened.
- Produce a source asset you can repurpose into a quarter of posts.
