# LinkedIn Thought Leadership

Thought leadership isn't posting insights. It's holding one position long
enough and defending it well enough that people bring you into the conversation
when the topic comes up. Position first, cadence second, everything else after.

About this skill

What is the LinkedIn Thought Leadership?

The LinkedIn Thought Leadership skill is the exact approach Okara’s LinkedIn Agent follows to make someone the person a market thinks of on one topic. It starts from a position most of your industry disagrees with, stress-tests it against the strongest counterargument before you publish once, and then argues it from ten different angles rather than stacking new claims each week.

It’s written as a SKILL.md, a plain-language instruction format that people and AI agents can both follow. Use it if your posts are agreeable, widely liked, and forgettable — the most common failure mode on this platform.

Downloading the instructions is free with an Okara account. Running the skill — the position maintained, posts drafted in your voice on cadence, and the engagement plan executed — is part of the LinkedIn Agent.

Example

See it in action

You ask: I post good professional content weekly, get decent engagement, and nothing comes of it.

Agent does: It diagnoses the actual problem: your posts are agreeable. Nobody could argue with them, which means nobody remembers them, which means no association forms. So it finds the position you can defend — something you believe from your own data that most of your industry does not — and stress-tests it against the strongest counterargument before you publish once, because a take you would abandon under pushback is not a position. Then it builds an angle bank: ten ways to argue the same idea, from a customer story, a counterexample, your own failure, a number nobody else has. Each post makes one argument and carries one quotable sentence someone could repeat in a meeting. It plans your comments too, since substantive replies on other people’s posts reach adjacent audiences faster than your own feed does. And it sets expectations: two quarters, because judged post by post this looks like failure the whole way through.

How it works

From input to output

  1. 1

    You bring the expertise

Share your area, your audience, and the firsthand evidence you can argue from.

  2. 2

    Okara finds the position

The LinkedIn Agent identifies what you believe that your industry doesn’t, and tests it against the counterargument.

  3. 3

    It builds an angle bank

Ten ways to argue the same position — customer story, counterexample, data, failure — so repetition never reads as repetition.

  4. 4

    You post and defend

One argument per post, a quotable line in each, and a plan for the comment threads where credibility is earned.

What's included

Everything it covers

  • Defensible position

The belief your industry doesn’t share, backed by evidence you actually have.

  • Counterargument test

The strongest case against you, answered before you publish once.

  • Angle bank

Ten ways into the same idea, so consistency doesn’t become repetition.

  • Firsthand evidence

Your data, customers, and failures — the only real moat in this format.

  • Disagreement engagement

How to answer substantive pushback in comments, where credibility is actually built.

  • Two-quarter horizon

A cadence plan calibrated to how long association actually takes to form.

Use cases

When to reach for it

  • Become the person your market thinks of on one narrow topic.
  • Fix posts that get likes and produce nothing.
  • Generate inbound from a specific professional audience.
  • Turn firsthand data into a position competitors can’t copy.
  • Build an exec presence that survives past a few strong posts.
