The skill file
--- name: x-thread description: Structure an X (Twitter) thread that hooks on the first post, keeps readers moving from post to post, and pays off with a clear takeaway and one call to action. owner: Okara X Agent --- # X Thread A thread is a story with a hook, a spine, and a payoff. Most threads die on the first post; the rest lose people in the middle. This skill helps you sequence one idea across several posts so readers reach the end and act.

About this skill
What is the X Thread?
The X Thread skill is the exact approach Okara’s X Agent follows to build a thread that people actually finish. It packages how to write a hook post that promises a payoff, sequence one idea per post for retention, and close on a single call to action, so a big idea doesn’t collapse in the middle of the timeline.
It’s written as a SKILL.md, a plain-language instruction format that people and AI agents can both follow. Read it to understand the arc of a high-performing thread, adapt it for your own voice, or let the X Agent apply it whenever you have a story or framework too big for one post.
Downloading the instructions is free with an Okara account. Running the skill continuously — turning your ideas into threads and learning what keeps your audience reading — is part of the X Agent.
The same principle applies at the level of the thread: the reposts and replies the opening post earns in its first stretch are what decide whether the timeline pushes it past the people who already follow you, more than how many threads you publish in a week. That is why this skill puts almost all its weight on the hook post and the single CTA — a thread only gets the chance to be read start to finish if its opener earns that early push first.
Example
See it in action
You ask: “I want a thread about the 5 mistakes we made scaling to $1M ARR. Help me structure it.”
Agent does: Hook post: "We hit $1M ARR in 18 months — and nearly killed the company twice getting there. 5 mistakes I’d pay to undo:" That promises a specific payoff and opens a loop. Then one mistake per post, each ending on a small cliffhanger so readers keep going. Put your hardest-won lesson third or fourth, not last, where attention dips. Close with the meta-lesson that ties them together, then one CTA: "I write one of these a week — follow along." No link stacking, no ten asks.
