About this skill
What is the Product Description?
The Product Description skill is the instruction set Okara’s Writer Agent uses to convert a spec sheet into a description a shopper actually reads and a search engine can index. It covers the hook, the benefit-led body, the scannable feature block, and the keyword placement — so every product page does its job instead of repeating the manufacturer’s blurb.
It’s written as a SKILL.md, a plain-language instruction format that both people and AI agents can follow directly. Read it to understand the approach, adapt it for your store, or let the Writer Agent write descriptions from your product details.
Downloading the instructions is free with an Okara account. Writing benefit-led descriptions across a whole catalog, with consistent tone and structure, is part of the Writer Agent.
That gap between a spec sheet and a reason to believe it matters more than most catalogs account for. Consumer research consistently finds the large majority of shoppers — commonly cited above 90% — read reviews or other third-party proof before buying, and about 54% say they trust that proof more than recommendations from friends, family, or marketing. Translating a spec into a benefit does the same job that proof does elsewhere on the page: removing a reason to doubt, one line before the shopper ever reaches the reviews.
Example
See it in action
You ask: “Write a product description for a stainless steel insulated water bottle, 750ml, keeps drinks cold 24h.”
Agent does: Here it is. It opens on the benefit shoppers buy for — "Cold from your first sip to your last, 24 hours later" — then a short line on where it fits their day (gym, commute, trail). Below that, a scannable spec block: 750ml, 18/8 stainless steel, leak-proof lid, fits standard cup holders. I worked in "insulated water bottle" and "keeps drinks cold" naturally for search, and closed with a note on the sweat-free grip. Want a shorter version for category pages and a longer one for the product page?
