The skill file
--- name: viral-content description: Engineer content for sharing — pick the emotion, give people a reason to be seen sharing it, and remove every point of friction between reading and reposting. owner: Okara Writer Agent --- # Viral Content Nothing goes viral by accident twice. What travels has identifiable mechanics: a high-arousal emotion, something the sharer gets out of sharing, and zero friction between reading and reposting. This skill builds those in deliberately.

About this skill
What is the Viral Content?
The Viral Content skill is the exact approach Okara’s Writer Agent uses to give a piece a real chance of leaving your existing audience. It treats sharing as mechanics rather than luck: pick a high-arousal emotion, make the share flattering to the sharer, compress the idea to one sentence, and design a quotable fragment that can spread detached from the original.
It’s written as a SKILL.md, a plain-language instruction format that people and AI agents can both follow. Use it to pressure-test a launch post before you publish, or let the Writer Agent build the mechanics into everything it drafts.
Downloading the instructions is free with an Okara account. Running the skill continuously — publishing on cadence with the shareability mechanics already built in — is part of the Writer Agent.
The reason engineering these mechanics beats hoping for luck is that platforms don’t distribute evenly — they amplify whatever already has velocity in the first hour and starve whatever doesn’t, turning virality into a compounding advantage instead of a random one. A post built with a deliberate arousal emotion and a low-friction share reason earns that early velocity on purpose; a post that just hopes to catch on is competing against everyone else’s design instead of its own.
Example
See it in action
You ask: “We have benchmark data showing our competitor is 3x slower. How do I make this travel?”
Agent does: It picks surprise as the arousal emotion and leads with the number, not the methodology — the most surprising true thing goes in line one. The share reason is that reposting makes someone look informed to their own audience, so the piece is written to be forwarded, not admired. It compresses to one sentence a reader could repeat to a colleague, designs a single chart as the quotable unit that spreads without the post attached, keeps the full data ungated so there is no click between value and share, and gives you a posting window plus five people to line up for the first hour, because early velocity is what the algorithm actually reads.
Comparison
The skill vs. the alternatives
| Do it yourself | Hire a freelancer or agency | Viral Content skill (free) | Writer Agent | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cost | Your own time | $500–$5,000+ per project | Free with an Okara account | Included in the AI CMO plan |
| Time to first result | Hours to days, per attempt | Days to weeks, plus revision rounds | Minutes — download and follow it | Same day, runs automatically |

| Who does the work | You, from scratch each time | Someone who has to learn your business first | You (or your agent), following the exact steps | Okara's Writer Agent, end to end |
How it works
From input to output
- 1
You bring the idea
Share the insight, asset, or data, plus the platform and the audience you want to reach.
- 2
Okara picks the mechanics
The Writer Agent chooses the arousal emotion and names what the sharer gains from passing it on.
- 3
It compresses and hooks
You get a one-sentence core idea, an opening line built on the most surprising true thing, and a quotable unit designed to travel alone.
- 4
You post with a seeding plan
The agent gives you the posting window and a first-hour engagement plan, because early velocity decides distribution.
What's included
Everything it covers
Arousal emotion
Picks the specific high-arousal emotion the piece is built on, instead of hoping one emerges.
Sharer incentive
Names what the reposter gains — looking smart, informed, or aligned — and writes toward it.
One-sentence compression
Reduces the idea to something a reader can repeat to a friend without the original.
Quotable unit
Designs the line, stat, or image that spreads detached from the post it came from.
Friction removal
Strips signup walls, link chains, and setup slides that sit between reading and sharing.
Timing & seeding
Sets the posting window and the first-hour plan that earns algorithmic distribution.
Use cases
When to reach for it
- Give a launch one piece of content that reaches past your current followers.
- Turn original data or benchmarks into something people forward.
- Fix content that gets likes but almost no shares.
- Pressure-test a post before publishing to see if the mechanics are actually there.
- Build a quotable asset that keeps circulating after the post itself is buried.
