The skill file
--- name: personal-brand description: Build a personal brand on purpose — one narrow lane, a defensible point of view, a repeatable content engine, and a cadence you can actually hold. owner: Okara AI CMO --- # Personal Branding A personal brand is what people can predict about you. That means it comes from narrowness and repetition, not from posting more. This skill picks the lane, finds the point of view, and builds the engine that sustains it.

About this skill
What is the Personal Brand?
The Personal Brand skill is the exact approach Okara’s AI CMO follows to make someone known for something specific. It forces a lane narrower than feels comfortable, finds the intersection of your experience and what most people in that lane get wrong, and turns it into three to five recurring content buckets so the blank page stops being the bottleneck.
It’s written as a SKILL.md, a plain-language instruction format that people and AI agents can both follow. Use it if you post consistently and nobody can say what you are known for, or if you are a founder whose distribution advantage is your own audience.
Downloading the instructions is free with an Okara account. Running the skill — drafts in your voice on cadence across the platforms that matter, tracked for reach and inbound separately — is part of the Okara AI CMO.
Example
See it in action
You ask: “I post three times a week about startups and marketing and nothing is happening.”
Agent does: It diagnoses the lane, not the cadence: "startups and marketing" is the reason nothing compounds, because nobody can predict what they get by following you. It narrows you to the intersection where you have unfair evidence — pricing decisions at sub-$10M ARR, which you have actually run — and names the thing most people in that lane get wrong, since disagreement is what makes a point of view. Then it builds four recurring buckets so you never face a blank page: teardowns, your own numbers, the contrarian take, and questions you get asked repeatedly. Cadence gets set to your worst week rather than your best, one in five posts gets a conversion path, and reach and inbound get tracked separately, because the buckets that win each are rarely the same.
How it works
From input to output
- 1
You share what you know
Give it your experience, who you want to reach, and what you want the audience to produce.
- 2
Okara narrows the lane
The AI CMO picks a territory narrower than feels comfortable and finds your unfair angle inside it.
- 3
It builds the content engine
Three to five recurring buckets with examples, so sitting down to post stops being a blank page.
- 4
You publish on a cadence that holds
A rhythm set to your worst week, with a deliberate conversion path and quarterly review.
What's included
Everything it covers
Lane selection
Narrows you to a territory specific enough to actually get known for.
Unfair angle
The intersection of your experience, your evidence, and what the lane gets wrong.
Content buckets
Three to five recurring formats that remove the blank page every week.
Recognizable voice
Consistent patterns and real opinions — the only defensible moat in this format.
Sustainable cadence
A rhythm calibrated to your worst week, because this compounds over years not weeks.
Conversion path
How audience becomes pipeline, and how rarely you should say so.
Use cases
When to reach for it
- Get known for one thing instead of posting broadly and compounding nothing.
- Turn a founder’s audience into a real distribution advantage.
- Generate inbound for hiring, sales, or speaking instead of chasing it.
- Build a repeatable engine so posting stops depending on inspiration.
- Reposition a personal presence after a role or industry change.

Competitive Analysis
The market-mapping method Okara’s AI CMO uses to find who you’re really losing to, where the defensible gap is, and what to change this quarter.

A useful one answers three questions: who are we actually losing to, why, and what should we change
Customer Journey
The evidence-based mapping method Okara’s AI CMO uses to chart the real path from trigger to renewal — with the friction points ranked and owned.
--- name: customer-journey description: Map the journey customers actually take — stages, questions, emotions, touchpoints, and the friction points where they drop — built from evidence, not from a workshop whiteboard. owner: Okara AI CMO --- # Customer Journey Map A journey map built in a workshop reflects what the team believes. A useful one is built from data and interviews, and its output is a ranked list of friction
Buyer Psychology
The decision-force method Okara’s AI CMO uses to explain why good products lose: trigger events, status quo bias, perceived risk per role, and the cost of championing you.
--- name: buyer-psychology description: Understand what actually drives a purchase decision — perceived risk, status quo bias, internal politics, and the trigger that makes change urgent — and write to those forces. owner: Okara AI CMO --- # Buyer Psychology People don't buy the best option. They buy the option that feels least risky once they've decided change is necessary at all. This skill maps the forces
